Labor Member for Rankin Jim Chalmers has affirmed his party’s support for Operation Sovereign Borders, saying there is “bipartisanship” over the policy’s major elements.
“We support Operation Sovereign Borders,” Mr Chalmers told Sky News Australia.
“I think people know that the major planks of this policy are the same Labor or Liberal – they know that if you make that journey you’ll be turned back or sent to Nauru.”
